An Explanation
It was the next day as she was bartering with a bowyer that O'honat caught a movement from the corner of her eye. Concluding her business, she casually strolled over past the alchemy bench and leaned against the palisade wall. "I'm surprised you are up already," she quietly commented, seemingly to thin air.
"I heal quickly" came the terse reply. "What is it you wish to speak about?"
"Return to your room. You need the rest and it may just be the most private place in Gwyntell. We'll talk there." O'honat pushed herself from the wall and went to browse the wares of a nearby merchant.
A few minutes later she returned to the stables to find Issic waiting for her.
"What the hell is going on?" His voice was low and controlled, but his tone made it clear he meant business.
"No need to be so short. I will speak plainly. Nobody goes back by those ruins anymore. Even if there were anything left to pillage, the rumors and tales of ghosts from the massacre kept all but the bravest of looters away. Besides... you aren't a petty thief. So that leads me to wander what interest the Guild of Shadows has in that area and if it has anything to do with the missing soldiers."
